congrats! Perez continues to be a favorite for me. all the best, Barry |
Does This Count?
While attending the 2010 National, I was looking at items at the Legendary Auctions display. They had a few Dick Perez items that were part of an upcoming auction. Perez happened to stop by. He seems to be a nice guy. We talked for 10-15 minutes. I grabbed a couple of the promotional cards that were laying on the counter and asked would he mind signing. I think it's pretty cool.

My favorite is a commission painted by net54's own Graig Kreindler in 2012:
"The Dutch Master" Johnny Vander Meer in repose at Ebbets Field in 1938. Dimensions are 20" x 28" |

Here is my favorite Sandy Koufax artwork piece from 1965, arguably Sandy's best year in the majors...

This is a very amateur pointillism portrait of Ruth that I've never finished that was done all on an iPad.

Pete Alexander getting the call to take the mound in the 7th inning of Game 7 of the 1926 World Series - a commission for The National Pastime Museum. You can read the longer story behind the story at my website here |
I have not done any baseball art ( I am an artist though...) However the only baseball art related items I have are colorizations. I have a guy who has paid me to do close to 200 of these. It's something I really enjoy and have gotten to learn about baseball a bit more by studying the colors for certain eras. The guy also has me make him digital cards of players who did not get cards for certain years.

Babe Ruth mosaic

My Babe Ruth mosaic made up of 1991-93 Topps mini cards. This is one I made by hand, but was not my design. The farther away you stand the cooler it looks. Up close you would think its just an uncut sheet.

My Leroy Neiman pencil sketch that I got in a Scott Gaynor ebay auction a few years back...
I particularly enjoy the date... |
