Goose Goslin Hall Of Fame Bowl - Need Help
Good afternoon. I picked up this "bowl" at a local flea market. At first glance it looked to be in the shape of a glove, but at second glance it appears to be a seashell. Does anyone have information they could pass along? Exactly what is it, besides an interesting Hall of Fame piece?

Bump. Any help out there? :)

Hmm........interesting. No info here. Is the writing on there painted on or engraved? I'm always suspect of engraved items as what's to say they couldn't be engraved now with something like that? Don't know. Hard to believe someone would fake a clamshell with Goose Goslin for 1968 though....right? I mean, if you're gonna fake it, go big with Babe Ruth or Ty Cobb.....on that end, I'd be a little less suspect.......sorry nothing to really add to the discussion.............

Goslin was from south Jersey and I know he ran a boat rental business for years on the Delaware Bay. Possibly that is the seashell connection.

Hmm, good info there. To answer Tom's question, it is painted on. Maybe Goose sold trinkets related to his baseball career from the rental business.

I have an identical shell like yours that is of dazzy vance and is dated 1955 (his induction year). I believe I've seen a jackie Robinson version as well. At one time I thought I'd read that these were sold as souvenirs around cooperstown but I could be wrong. It's a cool unique piece though and I don't think it's modern but not 100 percent sure.

Appreciate the info :)

I have one of Ty Cobb with the year 1936. I think probably from the gift shop in Cooperstown.
