I have no idea where the roster cards come from. But it seemingly has to be from spring 1948. It's a strange mix of players — some are big league stars, some were in the low minors at the time, and at least one (Gentile, and it's not Jim) doesn't show up on anybody's major or minor league roster that year. Presumably it was an exhibition game of some kind. They may have filled out the rosters with a couple local guys. Maybe these were handed out with programs.

My guess is from spring training 1949 or 1950. Stengel took over the Yankees in 1949, and Eddie Dyer left the Cardinals after 1950.
