Less achieving siblings of MLB players
Title says it all. Post some cards of MLB stars/players brothers who didnt quite share the talent/fame of there siblings.
Ill start with Marty Walsh, younger brother of Big Ed Walsh. A good pitcher himself who never quite made it to the bigs. He did win 30 games in the Virginia League in 1908 for Danville though. http://www.baseball-reference.com/mi...d=walsh-001mar http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/...sriikittm.jpeg |

I recall once listening to an interview of Tony Gwynn in which he had such high
praise of his brother, even going so far as to say Chris was the better baseball player between the two brothers. Maybe Chris was better, but it never really panned out that way. ErikV |

Interesting how this thread is morphing into a postwar-vint and Modern thread. Where are the Delahanty Bros when you need them?

This thread has got to be a great boost to the egos of the "other" brother(s).

Ramon Martinez was actually a very good pitcher...didn't get the hype that his younger brother did but the guy was solid in his own right. Went 20-6 one year, was 135-88 lifetime with a no-hitter under his belt.
Sandy Alomar was in the same bucket...he was a 6x All-star and fairly solid player in his own right. |

How about a less achieving sibling of the most "obscure" carded player?:D:D:D

Anyone have a card of Mike Corcoran? Allowed 14 runs in his only start back in 1884 for the White Stockings. I have a card or two of his brother, but none for the older Corcoran

Wheat Brothers
Here's a cabinet with Zach, Mack, and Basil Wheat. Oldest brother (Zack) went on to become a HOFer, middle brother (Mack) played 6 seasons in the Major Leagues, while youngest brother (Basil) played C and OF in the minor leagues for several years (at least according to SABR).

Less famous, but at least he has a song about him. Larry Yount, Robin's older brother.

how about this guy
Actually saw him play quarterback for Iowa when I was there. Threw a ball 70 yards. Incredible. Then nothing

For a slight variation, how about someone who achieved less than his sister?
