My National pick-ups
As always, a great time reconnecting with friends from the boards. Had a star-studded dinner at Gibson's: Frank Robinson was one table over, Lawrence Taylor was in the bar and Mike Eruzione passed by our window. PSA Luncheon and Net54 reception (thanks Leon!) were fun as well.
First table I stopped at and I saw a card I had to have. Dihigo was one of the greats, a terrific pitcher AND hitter. This is my second playing-days card of a Negro Leaguer. Although the technical grade is accurate (because of the scuffing on the left & right), I love the image, corners and centering. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...pslkelpheq.jpg These three T206s I picked-up from two different dealers. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...ps4feyp3su.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...psvsuvvl4k.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...psnc7jtkia.jpg And finally the two biggies (and I apologize for including these on the pre-war board). To be honest, I thought I'd eventually own these in at least PSA 6 but even mid-grades are soaring out of reach (for me) at this point. I was happy to be able to add these to my collection in decent-looking "5's". http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...pstcslizax.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...psz55clcpu.jpg Looking forward to Atlantic City already! |
