1990 Topps Frank Thomas NNOF
Wow, awesome find
That was neat!
That's what it's all about!
i foolishly just bought a couple of those packs on ebay.
Bought one also... Lottery ticket
To me, there is no way that video was real, it was staged, for quite a few reasons. The card sticks out like a sore thumb in the stack like it was placed there. It's dinged too and the others aren't. The way they were acting and filming it didn't seem genuine at all.

I've done magic shows for years and am pretty good at slight of hand detection. He "cuts" the pack with scissors but you can't actually se he cutting the plastic. Also he reads off a bunch of names as he goes through the pack then as it drags on he starts going faster and skipping names as if he is trying to get to something. Like mentioned the corner I'd dinged on the one card while he is so carful with the rest. Like I said I hope I'm wrong but seems a bit fishy to me. Just my take on it. Drew |
No offense to the skeptics but this video was most likely edited down to show only the portion that would be of interest. He could have opened those packs you're talking about not seeing. But why would you want to sit through that?
Count me as one of the skeptics too, but this looks completely faked. He could have edited down the video, but they filmed that amount of lead in/setup for every pack?? Plus all the signs already pointed out. Would be nice if it was real, but seems doubtful.
At :41-:45 you can see him placing the "cut" plastic right by the package to make it seem like he's "cutting" it.The camera pans up, and he's talking so you focus on that. There's not that much wiggle room to hold it to the side like that.

fake or not, i still bought 3 packs for a whopping $5....
Has anyone seen the video of the guy who opens the '86 Fleer and gets the Jordan sticker AND RC in the same pack? I think that one is fake. |

Good marketing
Looks like a good way to unload some 1990 jumbo racks. I wonder how many he sold?
I agree with everyone who say this looks fake. As was mentioned already no one who had gone through thousands of cards already would be reading the names off of common players, or act excited to pull a Greg Jefferies or Deon Sanders card (I believe those were two he mentioned). The thing with the scissors seemed strange even before I went back and noticed he didn't really cut the pack.
I finally watched it. Bad acting. What, does he do all that set up talking before opening each pack? And if you look carefully you can see the Thomas card has way more wear on the corner. You can see it coming in the deck, it sticks out like a sore thumb.
The video was purely entertainment. The Frank Thomas NNOF is 100% Authentic, however, it did not specifically come in this pack.
Just wanted to see reactions and comments. A lot of the comments bash it, but everything was executed extremely well. Thanks for watching. |

As a result of that video I've bought close to 30 1990 Topps Jumbo's over the past month....several correct Thomas', but no NNOF.
Gues that's about $13 I'll never get back! |
