Another old school glove pick up
Hello,
I'm back again with another glove. I posted this thread: http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=207444 not too long ago asking for any help was very thankful for those who had helped. Just yesterday, my other grandfather wanted to give me a gift. As it turns out, it was his glove from his playing days! How cool is it to own both of your grandfather's playing gloves! I tried doing a little research on the glove but couldn't find a whole lot. The glove was purchased at a Gamble's store and has a "Rudy York" signature imprinted on it worth model number 25-332 (I think is the model number). That's all I know about it. I was wondering if anyone knew any more about the glove, like who made it or what year(s) it could be from? http://i800.photobucket.com/albums/y...psht1iv6oj.jpg http://i800.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps7qdyptdo.jpg Any help is appreciated! Thanks, Andrew |
Can't say much about the glove, but probably Mid 40s since Rudy played in the 40s. Ask your grandfather when he used it.

Here's some information on the Gambles brand:
http://www.vintagebaseballgloveforum...gambles#p24851 A majority of the Gambles gloves I've seen have characteristics that would make them Denkert made. Not sure on this one and I'm guessing that Gambles used a few manufacturers to source their gloves from. |
I appreciate the help! I asked him, but he cannot remember when he bought it. It would have been uses in the 40's...that's all he knew for sure.
Now to build something to display these pieces. |
