Babe Ruth pull

First time in over 20 yrs I get on a kick about having cards in general. Bought over 4000 off eBay just for giggles and to look through. Went to a card store on 7/7 to maybe learn whats changed and ask a few questions and bought a few packs of cards there too. Made a wonderful pull in my opinion and was curious on what everyone things of the signature, quality and maybe even whether or not its worth anything to sell or hold onto?

Ruth

Very nice D. I have no idea on value. He does have a lot of signed stuff out there. It would be a keeper for me

A Babe Ruth auto is typically the best card you can pull out of a product for that year, and there's rarely more than one. An awesome pull.

WOW! That's an awesome pull of a lifetime. Would be hard to part with the Holy Grail of pulls. Would also be hard to turn down the 2-5K that card would bring on ebay with the right seller (Probstein or PWCC etc.).
Either way, congrats, you'll NEVER do better than that one!

I have seen other similar Ruth cut cards sell for over $5000, so I would likely sell it and reinvest into a different Ruth auto (to have one cheaper) and then buy other cards that I would want to keep for my collection. Maybe a low grade matching Ruth Goudey Sport Kings?

Amazing pull! If it were me, I'd sell and then buy a different Ruth, if you're interested in Ruth. The cards are cool and all but I'd rather have a loose signature on a different medium. Plus you could probably pocket a nice difference from the sale on top of a replacement Ruth.

I was super excited about it and floored at the same time. Card shop I bought it from had a hard time believing the pack came from them. I saw a different 2015 Babe Ruth cut sold at 7800 just last month and relisted at 12.5 so that makes it amazing. For the right price it could be somebody else's but until then I think it will sit hidden away from the kids fingers, spilled drinks and sunlight.

Should I be worried about the quality or even the authenticity of the signature coming from Topps? I saw a post about someone had an issue with a Tri-Star Ruth once and made me curious.

Since Topps has listed it as an authentic autograph, there's no real risk to sending it in to PSA or JSA to get it authenticated from one of them, and you can also get them to encapsulate it. If it comes back "not authentic" or "questionable authenticity" you should go back to Topps and have them remake the card with a real signature.

While I don't have an opinion on your card, I do know that in the past cut signature cards have had varying levels of questionable authenticity. There was a booklet a while back that had Ruth and Gehrig and both signatures were considered forgeries by the hobby.

Here's a brief article on the card. It was a 2010 Topps Tributes Legendary Line Ups card of the 1927 Yankees. http://www.sportscollectorsdaily.com...led-consigned/

Am very happy for you,

I'm actually went with the advice of a few and sold it and will pick up a cheaper babe ruth sig in the future. Met someone halfway this morning and picked up just over $7000 for it. But this card really did it for me by probably getting me somewhat of a hobby. Suppose I'll start with just sets until I find a team, player or era I want to collect.

There a recent check being sold by mr Stinson...would've been the perfect replacement. This is the sickest pull ever! You are probably a generally lucky guy.

Actually my luck hasn't been the greatest and after losing my mom at 48 to lung cancer this last year I was beginning to wonder how much worse it could get. This definitely settled some things for me at least.
