Two Cheap 1952 Topps Mantle PSA 3...too good to be true?

I was just looking (and dreaming) about a 1952 Topps Mantle someday...so I was looking through some completed auctions. I found a pair of PSA 3 cards that sold REALLY cheap as BIN...and whenever I see something like this, it makes me wonder if it's too good to be true. Both cards were BIN from the same seller.

I'm by no means an expert with this card, but I have done my homework as I want to pick one up one day. Based on my knowledge of the card, these both appear to be Type 1 Mantles.

I don't see wrong with these cards other than the insanely low price. Any thoughts on these? Am I missing something?

They don't scream fake to me, but his eBay name, the number of negative feedbacks left, and the fact that his feedback is set as private raise red flags for me. Someone may have gotten a good deal on these though....

These same sales were mentioned in a thread a couple of weeks ago. I believe the consensus was that someone's ebay account was hacked. There is a 0% chance someone actually bought a PSA 3 52 mantle for 3k, or even 6k, on ebay. I'm pretty sure the buyer ended up receiving an empty box in the mail, if anything at all.

That was the only logical conclusion I could reach too...thanks for reaffirming my initial thought. :)

This Jackie Robinson from the same set just as good, if not a better, buy.

If you click on that seller's feedback rating it says they've made the comments private. According to Ebay once a seller makes their feedback private they're no longer allowed to sell. I believe this is part of the reason others assumed the account was hacked or stolen and then shut down.

Either that, or we all missed out on one hell of a deal.

His ebay name alone is enough to make me shy away from purchasing cards from him.

I wouldn't touch with that seller's feedback. It's terrible.
