OT-Mykal singing at Grand
 

Hey all,

I had posted this about 2 years ago. May 23, 2013 my life changed forever, when my 15 year old daughter suffered sudden cardiac arrest at a KC Royals game. I will not get into details, but we were told she would die that night. Thanks to paramedics and the ER nurse who she went to the game with, she got fast CPR and was revived beating the 5% odds. The 2 years have been tough and blessed bitter sweet for our family. Mykal was sent back by God and has gained a talent with music in which she turned to to cope. I am so proud to announce that she will take the stage Tuesday night to perfom a song she wrote and recorded at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN. For you non-musicians (like I was), this is as big a stage as it gets in country music. Thank you sooooo much from the bottom of my heart for I know many of you on here prayed for my family. I have had to sell off most of my collection for medical reasons, but was happy to do it. This is much more than a Dad can ask for and deserve. Thank you to my collecting colleagues for your support.

I remember when your daughter was in danger and we all sent prayers through this amazing board!
I am so pleased to hear that she's not only recovered but is on the Grand Stage!

I was a pitcher in College and a short stint in professional ball, so the best way I tried to explain it to her was like me staring down Jeter in the box at Yankee stadium. That is how I tried in my own way to describe her opportunity.

I am absolutely elated to hear that your daughter is doing so well in all ways.
I remember well what you went through during those tough times. I'm pleased to hear that she is now going to be on stage at the Opry!

jason...time flies...i remember this news and it seems like yesterday. that is A-mazing news...so happy to hear your daughter is well and thriving!

Awesome news, Jason! So glad to hear an update like this and to know that your sweet daughter is thriving so well, is just a blessing. I'd also love to see her on youtube or something similar if possible.

Jason, happy for Mykal I know how proud you and Dyann are of all your children. She is indeed a miracle and proof that prayer works. Hope she has continued success with her music. That is indeed a big stage, but I know she is capable of facing anything after what she went through and survived two years ago.
