Bill Mastro & Honus:
'Mysteries at the Museum' on the Travel Cannel just aired an episode which detailed Mastro trimming the Wagner and riding the coattails of it's sale.
It was very interesting. You may want to check your local listings to see when it is re-broadcast. |
Any idea which season or episode?
|
I checked the travel channel for the next week on my guide and didn't see it.
Surely they'll show it again? I didn't even know I had the travel channel. |
I clicked on this post with all the joy of a guy watching a plate glass window crash at his feet. I have some reservations about watching the episode.

Travel channel.com will let you view tv schedules all the way to July 5
Unless I missed it, the Wagner mysteries at the museum isn't coming back on |
The segment can be viewed on the Travel Channel website and is 2 minutes and 35 seconds in length.
|
it matters until we see Bill disappear in zebra stripes after this August.maybe that is why it got another airing.
|
Wonder what that Wagner goes for at auction now that its a well known trim job.
|
wagner fraud...
|
I believe that the next time it comes up for auction it will blow the price roof to bits. That is the most famous card of all time, and there's plenty of people who want it bad. So much history to that card. Frank
|
Maybe. Last time it sold for 2.8 million in 2007. Personally think it takes a million dollar price hit.
|
Considering a PSA 3 just sold for 1.3 million I'd be surprised if that one didn't go for at least a million more than in 07. Not that I could ever afford it but I'm sure there would be a few people bidding who don't care that it was trimmed.

All things considered, that example is the Mona Lisa of card collecting. And that painting was trimmed, too.

Watched and thought it was simplified but neat. Shame ol' Bill didn't have better DNA.
|
put it in an 'A' holder like it belongs, then see what it goes for.

He's Back! Welcome Back Travis, glad you did not quit this board
