Help on Cardboard Display piece - Simms/L. T.
 

I think this is the proper place for this thread, if not, feel free to move it.

My girlfriend's father showed me a life size cardboard display from Frito Lay. I believe the year was 1989. It's Phil Simms and Lawrence Taylor holding chips. He had it in his closet since he got it. It's never been on display, and is in NM condition. His cousin owed a grocery store, and gave it to him at that time.

I ran searches on Google, and can't seem to find any info on it. I'll try to post a picture later in the week.

I figured I would post here to see if anyone may have any knowledge on it. Any thoughts on a price, or is he better off just keeping it?

I had a full sized display of Sammy Sosa, before his fall from grace, and couldn't even get 20 bucks for it on ebay. :(

Regional display item made with players from teams in area where the product was sold. Neat item but they are large and are a tough sell.

Baseball ones get the most interest.

Football ones can sell $20.00 to $75.00

tough to keep mint as there are too many edges on them

I had (and still have) about a dozen similar Cal Ripken Nabisco stand-up POS Displays, from one of the early-90s All Star Games. About a decade ago, I got $125 a piece for them. Not sure if the value has gone up or down since then, but they've gotta be pretty scarce by now. I think the value is dependent on the star quality of the featured athlete.

I would have thought a rabid Cubs fan would buy my Sosa Pepsi display but, no....and this was back when he was adored by most of Chicago.
