Are they for sale?
Can you post the prices?

I wanted to share some great ballpark photos, but would not be against a possible trade. My biggest interest is Ballpark Press Photos and Ticket Stubs (3k hit/strikeout; 300 win; 500 HR; perfect games.) Will post a few more photos.

Crosley Field (Cincinnati) 1st night game and 1937 Opening Day

Caption on first photo - Cincinnati Inaugurates Night Baseball in Majors - 5-25-35
Cincinnati, Ohio... Baseball became a nocturnal pastime in the major leagues last night (May 24), when Cincinnati and Philadelphia introduced it to 25,000 National League Fans. A host of notables of the game were on hand to witness the innovation, and president roosevelt in Washington threw a switch that turned on the flood lights which lighted the field for the game. Here is the general view of the park during the game. The game itself was a pitcher's duel between Derringer, for Cincinnati and Bowman, for Philadelphia, and was decided in favor of the former by a 2-1 score. Identification Resourses
David Cycleback has put out a great pdf/course on photos
Starting on p136, of this pdf download (note: large download), are great sections on Press Photos, Wire... The tags and different stamps http://www.robertedwardauctions.com/...photoguide.pdf also made into a course https://photoidcourse.wordpress.com/ I already listed this with my Chicago stadiums, but list it again, since the link got messed up http://www.sportscollectorsdaily.com...seball-photos/ Is anyone aware of any other good online resource? Looking into ordering "Portrait of Baseball Photography" amazon $85 for used paperback. Is it worth that? I was hoping, by starting this thread, that others would post some of their older stadium photos. Not a lot of good pre-WWII stadium photos, except NY. I see the same ones over and over again. I have had several people ask about selling some of these, but not a lot of interest in selling the ones posted, I do have probably 100 others (including player photos), that I may be more inclined to. I am having difficulty on identification of the Polo Grounds photo post #8 Polo Grounds 1909 ??? pictures, inc ??? first ave New York 16 N.Y. |
Tiger Stadium pre-lights
1 Attachment(s)
Picked up a few more stadium pics. Here is one of Tiger Stadium post-extension (1937), pre-lights (1948). Stamp on back is Detroit News Staff Photographer Kuenzel. Article on him: https://www.detroitathletic.com/blog...s-photography/
Also, looking for others to trade with. Looking more for stadium pics, similar to those I have on this thread. Have lots of player photos: Ott, DiMaggio, Yankees, Cubs... |
