Elvis Presley Autograph - 1954 Very Early Career
3 Attachment(s)
Extremely early career Elvis Presley autograph, signed in the Spring of 1954, before becoming the superstar he was destined to be. In 1954, Elvis went on a short tour with Jim Ed and Maxine Brown, who shared band members Scotty Moore and Bill Black. Bonnie Brown (youngest sister of the Brown's, but who had not yet joined the band officially), tagged along. It has been rumored that Elvis dated her for a short period of time. Photograph itself is of Maxine and Jim Ed, who also signed the front. Bonnie, Scotty Moore, Bill Black, and Elvis all signed the reverse.
This is the first time this piece has been offered publicly for sale. I purchased it from Bill, the individual who met the musicians and had it signed in 1954. It was very special to him, so special in fact that he actually adhered his social security card to the reverse of the photo, which lightly tore it when he removed it some time ago. The Elvis autograph is quite large, and the piece could easily be framed to only display his if desired, though I think the importance in this piece really lies in all of the other autographs as well. Not a ton is known of Elvis' time spent in 1954 when he first met the Brown's and there is little photo evidence, other than what Jim Ed and Maxine have retold in interviews. Truly a one of a kind piece for those who collect music autographs. $SOLD |
