authenticity

I used to own a few autographed items but sold them all. I am considering getting back in---especially autographed baseball bats. I am looking at a signed Ernie Banks bat on Steiner's website. Is this enough of a guarantee for you guys?:

"This Ernie Banks Autograph is guaranteed authentic and includes a Certificate of Authenticity from Steiner Sports along with an accompanying tamper-proof Steiner Hologram. "The Steiner Seal Means It's Real."

I know one has to be really selective these days... Thoughts?

100%

You will have no issues with these. If you are in fact new to Steiner, I'd suggest emailing them on their site, tell them you are re-entering the market, tell them what you are thinking of spending........and politely ask them if they could provide a 1st timer discount.

I'll bet that works! Good luck!

Peace, Mike

Robert...I would suggest that you get to know the autograph of each person you are looking to obtain. Try to find known examples and really get to know them, especially if they are on the media you are looking to obtain (bats in this case). When you feel comfortable with the autograph on your own, then a nod of approval from a TPA is just gravy.

Steiners are as legit as they get, but they are massively overpriced.

I see what you mean. The bat I looked at was $509! I have seen them with PSA/DNA cert for $200.

There's a difference between PSA and Steiner: Steiner watches the item get signed, PSA gives an opinion later. If you don't mind paying a little more, get one from a company that holds the signings (Steiner, MAB, MLB, Mounted Memories come to mind.)

With Steiner, I would always go secondary market, but watch for people tampering. The good news is Banks isn't as highly forged as many.

Good advice, thanks.

Fair warning. There have been numerous reports of bad items offered on the secondary market with Steiner certs. Steiner knows about this because I and others on the board reached out to them regarding this and none of us received a response.
If you are buying straight from Steiner I see no problem except the outrageous prices.

Charlie.
