Okay. This hasn't seen the light of day in 30 years. Question 1: What do y'all think. Question 2: What "grade" do you think the auto is? Thanks in advance.

It is not the Babe.

My father has. I am now the custodian of his collection.

Babe was in poor health in 1948, that was the year he died.
Many of the signed items of the Babe were ghost signed due to his health. Unfortunately, your ball is one of those items. |
Is it because of the B for one Richard which looks wrong? What else is there bad about it.
|
Hi Richard. That is something I know. I am not being snarky: I'm not new to the hobby. My father's name is Tom Charlton. He owned Sports Collecribles of Austin, San Antonio, and was a partner in Sports Collectibles of Houston. He promoted the Super Star Collector Shows. I slide for my fare share of HOFer's. I am not a autograph expert in anyway. The inscription on the ball is to the nephew of Ruth's oncologist. I know that much. Y'all have been awesome and helpful so far and continue to be. I do, and will continue to, respect y'all's opinons. That is why I am here.
Thanks Matt |
The ball was signed and inscribed by Ruth's wife, Claire.

Matt,
Are you going to tell your father of this news? Man, bummer. |
