Ruth/Gehrig Photo reprint?
1 Attachment(s)
I know that there are quite a few images of this iconic photo, and many of them are reprints, but there are a few subtle differences in this photo that brings me to ask the question to those more knowledgeable than I.
Is this a reprint photo? Thanks again for all your guidance. Lucky. |
Reprint.

It's hard to say without a better scan of it, but I would trust David on this one.
Either way, it's a KILLER image! |
I said reprint because the deckle edge style is from a later time period.

Thank you very much David for your valued input....much appreciated.

Real deckle edge paper is paper that isn't machine cut with with a straight edge so the edge has an uneven, feathery edge. Handmade paper, including in art and old documents, is often deckle edged. This above photo edge style, and the 1969 Topps Deckle Edge, are really pseudo-deckle edge or deckle edge-style because they were die-cut to have that style.
