I splurged and it paid off !!!
I was trying to spend any money until Friday when I get paid. For some reason last night I bid and won an Ed Reulbach glove showing Piedmont 150.
I was totally oblivious to just how good of a buy I got however. I didn't realize even though I have all of the data in my excel file that the 150 only series has only a few players. I ended up cataloging the Reulbach and then looking up it's value to compare how good or bad of a buy it was. I was blown away that it was valued at $111. I figured an SGC30 would have been maybe about $39. And here's the thing I only paid $26 for it??????? How weren't there other ppl who were aware of this being rare bidding on this lol ????? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1909-T206-PI...vip=true&rt=nc |
Nice looking card to boot!

Josh,
$26 is a very good deal on that card, especially the way it looks as a rather high grade 2. But I think that your assumption of $39 might be a bit closer to reality on the true value than anywhere near $100. Still a great buy though. Tom C |
Yup $35-40 card. Nice buy though!

Gotta stop using t206.org's pricing.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw...dmont&_sacat=0 The deeper I go into this T206 rabbit hole, the more complex and varied I find the pricing for some of the tougher combos. I don't even really bother with trying to price things out beyond a Beckett, some rule of thumb things when it comes to figuring out a multiplier for backs, and past eBay sales if warranted - those are going to be more helpful most of the time IMO. It goes without saying but it always comes down to what someone will pay. The actual sales for that card are lower than that type of pricing, but all it takes is a couple of people with money to spend looking for it at a time when others aren't listed. In any event, it's a nice card for the money! |

I'm just too stuck on that site I really like the way that you navigate and search for the value. But if it's not accurate I really should ween myself off of it. http://www.t206.org/value.php |

Throw out the price guides because they will never be accurate since price guides can't calculate all the factors that determine the value of collectibles or how individual collectors assign value to collectibles they want. Nice card! Jantz |
Best way to price a card is definitely looking at the ebay history of the card. Just go under "Category"--> select "Completed Items" and "Sold Items".
Also helps to search the auction house history like REA, Sterling, etc. when it comes to the rarer cards/backs. I would ignore SMR, Beckett, and T206.org for pricing. |
