LTB/LTTF GT Baseball player cards: Pratt, Henley, Lafitte, Mayer(s)...

So I've decided to do a little project:
1) Buy cards of all Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets who played in the Major Leagues
2) Buy a 2nd set to donate to the Georgia Tech Archives/Athletic Association.

As such, I need 1-2 of each of these players listed. Condition is less important than having an interesting mix of different types (Colgans, T206, T207, T209, CJ, whatever). If there was no card produced of that player in the timeframe, that would be good to know as well. Would also be interested in autographs of many of these players, but that's more of a long-term project.

Player Years in the majors (Still Need #, sets I have)
Claud Derrick 1910-1914 (1, T207 PSA 4)
Weldon Henley 1903-1905, 1907 (2, All-Time Dodgers as backup)
Ed Lafitte 1909-1912, 1914-1915
Jimmy Lavender* 1912-1917 (1, have raw T206)
Marty Marion* 1940-1950, 1952-1953 (0, have 1952 Bowman, 1949 Eureka SportsStamps)
Erskine Mayer 1912-1919
Tom McMillan 1908-1910, 1912 (2, have auto)
Joe Palmisano 1931 (2, have auto)
Del Pratt 1912-1924 (1, E121 Caramel)
Bobby Reeves 1926-1931
Whitlow Wyatt 1929-1945 (0, have 1941 Goudey yellow, 1939 Play Ball, auto)

Many of these guys played for John Heisman while he was the baseball coach at GT, for your own edification.

Stuff I can trade: check out my COMC port. The vast majority of those I have already purchased on site, so I can have them sent to me and the forward on to you. Make some trade offers, I'd love to have this project done by the close of 2015.

John, We have done some deals on the Sports & Non-Sports sides I believe so I figure I'd give you a hand to help you out in your search. Very helpful Rhett. I knew that somebody would clue me in. I figured that there would be some obscure issues, but that will be part of the fun of the chase.

Your business always has a group of cards ready at Buy-It-Now when I explore a new area of collecting, with great scans and accurate descriptions.

For those guys, I'll first try to look for a team picture with them in it. If I can't find one of those (since some were just up for cups of coffee), I'll go with the modern sets. 1960 Ray "Buddy" Blemker is another I couldn't easily find a card from.

Bump. Who has some Old Yeller Jackets for my and the school's collection? They are very excited about this planned donation!

swarmee 10-08-2015 03:50 PM

Haven't posted this in a while. Have a bunch of 1940s/50s Bowman graded cards to trade or plenty of everything on my COMC account.

swarmee 10-09-2016 01:43 PM

Bump. Need some more Yellow Jackets!
