Thank you Jennifer. I'm gonna miss you.
In the Spring of 2014, I took a picture of my 6 year old playing the outfield for his baseball team. One of my favorite pictures of him. I love the bubblegum pose.
http://i856.photobucket.com/albums/a...FD3637AD24.jpg As a collector of T206 cards I turned it into the 49th Southern Leaguer. And no, he didn't remember playing with Foley White...... http://i856.photobucket.com/albums/a...9C1620A381.jpg If you think "the 'stache" is hoarded, wait till they get a hold of "the bubble". Which leads me to my memorial. My mother in law, who I absolutely loved like my own mother, passed away Saturday night. In the course of 3 weeks she got ill while on a pilgrimage to the Vatican and Israel, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of the pancreas and liver, had several strokes due to DIC, went unconscious, then finally put in hospice to die. Absolutely tragic. I just cannot understand what just happened. If anything I'm pissed because she deserved better. A wonderful women who was a great role model to my girls and made a great daughter whom I married. And superhella artistic. A year ago she took a water coloring class. She asked me for some photos for her to try and paint. I gave her the one above along with some T206's.......and she gave me this. http://i856.photobucket.com/albums/a...f2cc261b01.jpg She always found this to be imperfect and it is.....but I love it. Everything about it. Thank you Jennifer....for everything these past 16 years. I love you and I am going to miss you so much. And thank god you didn't pull a Bill Burns with the reverse glove crap..... ;) |
Sorry for your loss Jeff. The watercolor painting she did was good and I hope by having it and looking at it each time will bring you peace and remembrance of good times.
|
Sorry to hear that Jeff. I know it's cliche to say but just try to soak up all the good times like you've pointed out above and share with your girls just how special of a person she was.
|
Jeff, I'm very sorry for your loss. Sounds like she was quite the lady.

Jeff my friend,
I know what you and your family are feeling at this time, and it hurts! After losing my sister not long ago we pray that God will comfort the aching hearts of your family. It's all about the memories now, and based what you said about her the memories will be sweet. |
Sorry for your loss. God bless.

Sorry to hear that Jeff. My condolences as well. Very nice memorial in letting those of us who did not know her get a glimpse of who she was as a person and an artist. Obviously she was very accomplished at both.

I was not expecting to get choked up when I got on Net54 this morning. What a beautiful way to remember your mother in law. The pictures are fantastic and I would imagine more special than any Cobb in your collection, as they should be. Sending positive and heartfelt thoughts your way.
