Help ID this Jimmie Foxx Card Please

2 Attachment(s)
Hi all,
I recently acquired this Jimmie Foxx card in a small lot of 50s topps cards. I was told it was a strip card from the 30s. Being Jimmie is pictured in a Pillies cap it has to be no earlier than the 40s right? If anyone knows the set this is from or can tell from the scan if it is a reprint that would be very helpful.

Thank you,
Chris

Looks like 1/4 of a 1977 Jim Rowe 'Exhibit' card.

Thank you Exhibitman. Any idea why mine is black and white and the others I see are yellow?

I believe it might be a fantasy piece. I bought a Bottomley that looked very much like this card. It was a fake (fantasy piece).

Thanks for the additional information Leon. How could I confirm this? Maybe a black light?

For me it was the feel and look of the paper itself. Eighty to one hundred year old paper will have a feel to it that is usually sort of smooth. Put the card between your thumb and forefinger. If it feels a bit rough it's probably not old paper. Also, if it lacks all gloss, it's not a good sign. Hope this helps.

Nope, just a cut down Rowe:

Couldn't it be a poor copy of a Rowe? I am not positive on this one but the one I had before, and might have even posted on the board, was definitely a fake reprint :).
