Help with a DiMaggio bat, part II
3 Attachment(s)
Now this bat I am more intrigued with. I already own a DiMaggio coach's bat from his days with Oakland (Hunt auctions).
So I bought this other bat on eBay last week. This bat looks identical to my bat, same weight, length, markings, knob, etc. But where my bat does not appear to have much, if any, use, this bat has lots of clear use, but not so much that it detracts from the visual appeal (in my opinion). The "35" on the knob is from the bat that came from Hunt auctions. Is there a way to prove (other than photo match, which I am already looking for) that this is in fact a coach's bat? Alternatively, is it likely that someone else can use a DiMaggio bat if they want to? I would love it if I had a bat that Joe actually hit a few with. Seller told me he got it in an estate sale or something like that. |
Due to its hue, I would say it is a bat made for the autograph market in the early to mid 80's

I have a newer bat with similar markings, but the stamp D29L on that one is different (smaller) font. Would that make a difference? Or would they go back to an old font for the autograph market bat?
