Help wanted- photos of spring training in Waxahachie, Texas (Det., Cinc. & White Sox)
1 Attachment(s)
I am helping our local museum try and locate photos from MLB spring trainings held in Waxahachie, Texas. The Tigers trained here from 1916 to 1918, the Reds in 1919 and the White Sox in 1921. The Tigers built the local park in 1916 and named it Jungle Park, it is still in use and is now named after MLB manager Paul Richards who was a native of Waxahachie. I am looking for any photos of those spring training that can be tied to Waxahachie.
I found a Legendary Auction in May of 2010 that sold glass negatives of the Tigers warming up in the park. I have been unable to obtain any assistance from Legendary in tracking down those negatives to at least obtain high quality prints if not the plates themselves. Did anyone on here possibly win that auction or can put me in touch with the person who did. Here is the link to the auction: http://www.legendaryauctions.com/Lot...ntoryid=106439 and the images are posted below and show the park. I would also be thrilled if someone has other photos. Your help is greatly appreciated. Jim |
