Satchel opinion?
|
No expert, but don't like at all.
|
Even if a fast version, I don't like it. too many inconsistencies, starting w slant
|
The "S" is wrong and the slant of the signature is wrong. Flow of signature is off also.
Check out PSA autograph facts and look at the 1969 sample of Paige's signature. That example looks like what was used as the source for this signature. |
This is offered as having and JSA letter attached. However Paige is nowhere named on the letter. Seller claims its from a Baseball Encyclopedia that he has cut up.
First, Paige should be named and would never be part of a "many more" on a cert. Second, the S doesn't look consistent with examples that I've owned in the past. Was just wondering what some of the others thought on this. |
Satch
I'd pass on this one...
|
I saw that on eBay too. I think it is good despite the inconsistencies with the S. I believe it was part of a larger group with an auction cert from JSA. I didn't or haven't bid on it yet, but the cert or lack there of doesn't really matter to me either way. Jason

I just found it weird that JSA would do a mass cert and leave Satchel off. I agree that the cert wouldn't mean much but it just was suspicious to me. |
|
JSA forgets to include keys in big groups for auction LOA's more than they list them from my experience. They fly through those things and dont take a ton of time since they don't mean much anyways. I have bought big lots and autograph albums with HUGE names in them that were not listed anywhere on the cert. THAT should not surprise you, but the Paige is off regardless.
