Rea

So........................when does it open? I see catalogues get mailed on 4/1/15, and it seems Rob has gone through some lengths not to allow anyone a "sneak peek". Is there an official date announced, or do I assume it's April first?

I've been wondering the same thing. Figured the 1st at the latest.

Re: REA

We originally planned for bidding to open on Monday, April 6, but we're ahead of schedule and will almost certainly have the bidding open early, likely Thursday, April 2. We don't have a preview period, so once the auction is online, you'll be able to bid immediately.

We haven't even seen the first copies of our catalog yet (though we do expect them tomorrow), but they are on schedule to mail by April 1. Historically it takes a few days for our printer to get everything shipped due to the massive quantity of catalogs we ship out, so I expect a staggered delivery all around the country as in years past.

There's going to be tons of great stuff as always. As Chris alluded to, there are several highlights on our website for anyone that hasn't seen them yet (click here). We also posted two entries on our blog last week about some very cool new discoveries relating to the Schmelzer's Sporting Goods pins and Cameo Pepsin pins, so you can read those here in advance of the auction opening. For T206 collectors (I think we have some on this board), this auction has tons of options, including every advertising back from Cobb/Cobb to Brown Old Mill, Brown Lenox, BL 460, Uzit, Drum, and right on down. Several of these are Hall of Famers.

If you've never received a copy of our catalog but would like to, you can request one on our website (click here).

If you'd like to register to bid, you can also sign up and get approved in time for the start of the auction (click here).

We're really looking forward to this auction and we're happy you are too.

Stay tuned for more updates this week.

On the Cartophilic calendar it is Christmas when REA's catalog comes out.

Favorite mail day of the year when that catalog comes! (Maybe other than the days when a big card purchase arrives)
