Sports impressions Mantle Ceramic Cards
It's funny what you can forget you own when you have piles and piles of stuff that you never look through. I was trying to clean up a bit today and found this item. I don't remember even owning it, so I assume it was purchased on ebay many years ago. The red, white and blue probably caught my eye at the time. I tried to research them and it seems that they were sold autographed, but I also saw some signature color and placement variations. Does anyone have any of these cards and perhaps knows a bit more about them than I do?

That would make me feel a little better about the signature, as i can't seem to find anything to indicate any were issued unsigned. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a81...psbujtxwbj.jpg |
All these cards were also available as posters for 14.99 each. I ordered one to have Mickey sign it in Toledo. He was appearing with Whitey Ford. A 15.00 ticket got a signature from both of them. The poster arrived a week after the show, so l just had him sign another ball. I had wanted to get a couple of the ceramic cards but l was smart enough to realize l would just end up breaking them.
It must be nice finding a Mantle autograph you didn't know you had! |
