Is anything Hot?
It's been a little while since we've played "what's hot...and what's not?"
Is anything particularly hot these days...besides forgeries and fakes?????? |

Speaking to a very active dealer yesterday he says Rookie HOF'ers are still hot... Also, it seems that "centered" cards are getting more attention..
I would guess T206 rare backs are still hot? Except for my commonly shown two I only have this semi scarce one left.... |

These are scarce Attachment 178814

Yep, T206 rare backs, miscuts, printing errors...still hot.
|
Oddities and errors seem to be picking up steam. This has been obvious with t206's for a couple years now, but other sets are picking up in prices also.
As more 80/90's collectors (the ones that obsess with all the errors in the 89 fleer set) start drifting toward vintage and prewar the more this will pickup. |
OJs seem down. I've seen a few nice ones with strong images sell for just over $100 lately.

If you saw what this card - an SGC 10 common player - just sold for in Baggers last auction - the M101-6's are still very hot...

On the opposite I think e90-1 rarities are on the lower side right now. They still command a premium, but not on par with former sales. |

Anything that concerns Babe Ruth is still hot.

cool card
that Terry Turner image is spectacular!
|
Agree on Babe. Really nice Babe cards are still hotly pursued and contested.
Postwar side, between the SCP 8, the Heritage 6, the PWCC 4.5, and even that beater 1 on eBay, the 52 Topps Mick is as hot as ever. |

Also agree on the babe being hot. She looks awesome on the SI swimsuit cover....
oh, different babe. Sorry, carry on. :D |
Hall of fame rookie football cards.

Pwcc
According to some of the prices realized last night in PWCC auction (2 to 5 times SMR in some cases), then 1948 Bowman Basketball is doing very well.

as always...............
.......T206 rarities are always hot......T206 rare backs and printer's scrap have become "blue chip"............
T206 factory cut print freaks remain strong.................hofer s in the T206 set always are hot................ seems like "autoed" cards are really picking up ( other issues not only T206)... anything "babe" related seems hot... oj are starting to soften, I have no idea why, cause they are my second favorite set to collect:confused:....but oj rarities are always hot....problem is, a lot of the die hards are actually aging in place..need more interest in ojs....I am not sure why they seem to dip sometimes.....paging johnny d??? |
What's hot
1952 topps mantle(PSA 7's have been selling for $100k plus and the PSA 6 is currently at $65k in heritage) is obviously hot.
1986 fleer Jordan, 1981 topps Montana, and 1979 opeechee Gretzky all hot especially in high grades. T206 Eddie plank hot too as there have been increase in sales prices even in low grades as it's population is almost the same as the Wagner and plank was an all time great hall of fame pitcher. |
