1967 dexter press question
Hey guys, I've been messing with this set for a bit, I really love it. My question is how to tell between an all star and regular issue for guys like Clemente and yaz... Also anyone else take this set on? Any tough cards? Any fun facts? To me it's beautiful and undervalued.

Hi Dennis:
I have tackled and completed the set. It is a beauty! I agree. The All Star Issues are easy to tell for 9 of the 12. They have much longer Bio's on the reverse. The three that do not are Bunning, Mays and Santo. See example of Kaline below In terms of tough cards, The A's set seems to be tough for some reason. The RAREST is a Paul Schaal of the Angels. He is the only Angel known and is in the Bateman 63 Pepsi realm. Heard about but very rarely seen. Again see below. There also were no Cardinals. Supposedly due to A/B being a competitor of Coke who issued these when you turned in a complete sheet of the teams Coke Caps. Fred Quote:

Fred, thanks for the reply, I did find the bio differences but didn't know it was the bulk of the all stars. Thanks for the help.

Is there any way to distinguish the regular Cubs team issue 1967 Dexter Press Ron Santo from the All Star issue Ron Santo? |

Not that I can see.
