What the heck is a Hackberry?
This arrived in the mail today. It is cracked, and has lots of wear and fading (I probably broke some rules and went over the "Lite-Wate" end with a sharpie so I can read it); but I have never seen one labeled like it. Anyone know what year it might be from? Are they rare? I couldn't find anything on google, except for two pictures (and one was the one I bought on eBay!). Thanks for any information, Sean |
Hackberry was a lighter wood which was used by some players in the late 1800's to early 1900. The back you have was made for a youth. It was a cheaper alternative to ash.
