I am torn on this one, so really hoping only the true experts can help with this ones, but if you must I'd like to hear any opinions

The starting bid is way too high not to mention the shipping costs :):).

3-2-count 01-30-2015 08:05 AM

I'm thinking this is in fact genuine, but signed by Ruth when he was 5. ;)

Was thinking the same thing Tony, I'd send it to one of the alphabet folks and get a COA :D

D.P.Johnson 01-30-2015 08:40 AM

Oh my!...:)...I'm glad I opened the link...Nice to wake up with a smile...

Leon 01-30-2015 08:47 AM

I vote good. Roaches Corner would probably certify it. :)

and since this is a good, smile thread, I am going to copy it to the front page of the forum....

vthobby 01-30-2015 08:59 AM

whoa........

Leon,

Not sure but I'm pretty certain that at a minimum the B is fake, looks like maybe the A also. 2nd B most definitely, and the E is no good.

My in depth EXPERT (:)) analysis on the Ruth is as follows.....the R looks suspect, as does the U, and the T is BAD, and I'm pretty sure the H is a secretarial.

The seller also has an office job as that hand in the photo is way to clean! :)

Peace, Mike

:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Lgarza99 01-30-2015 09:01 AM

Hilarious! :)
I read the thread first then opened the link not knowing what to expect....too funny! Lol. :) They had to do it as a joke too?

sayhey24 01-30-2015 09:02 AM

I'm thinking the R is a little questionable, but the rest looks great.

Greg

Made my morning. Thank you

Bocabirdman 01-30-2015 09:28 AM

The Babe was a time traveler? Is that signed with a Sharpie.?:D:eek::)

Bicem 01-30-2015 09:36 AM

Maybe the seller's name is Babe Ruth.

ethicsprof 01-30-2015 10:53 AM

baby ruth

The seller does have 100% feedback. Perhaps we need to rethink our skepticism. Or perhaps we should munch out on a great candy bar.

best,
barry

Easy to understand that it's the Australian version of the Babe sig, probably signed while riding a kangaroo.

You guys are always so suspicious!

Close, but similar to the direction toilets flush, autographs are written in the opposite direction when you're south of the Equator and Ruth just had a little trouble with it.

I know I am relatively a newbie to sports collecting, so my opinion on the signature is moot. However, I have learned a thing or two since joining this forum, and one question should always be asked. I wonder if the seller has any provenance? I am also a little suspicious because all his past sales are shoes, with one bad feedback. Now if this was a pair of the Babe's game worn Nike Air Max Lights, I would be more apt to believe in the credibility of the seller. I recommend caution before bidding.

I think it's supposed to be funny and drive traffic to the link.

GoCubsGo32 01-30-2015 02:31 PM

Ruth side panel? Whata jerk! Couldn't even sweet spot it! Bah! PASS! I would bid, if only it was sweet spot....:(

Maybe it was signed by one of the people in this band

Maddog 01-30-2015 04:14 PM

I don't think that's even an American baseball:D

Fred 01-30-2015 04:15 PM

The only thing wrong that I see is that the "t" is not entirely crossed. I don't think I've seen any other Ruth autos like that.

Babe Ruth contracted out this particular autograph to this kid......he signed it!
