Anyone have advice on buying Super Bowl tickets? This is my first time going (Seahawks fan). I'm surprised at the escalation of prices. It doesn't seem possible to get anything below $3K. Will prices come down as the game gets closer?

I'm stunned - they are now up to $4,000 each.

Last year prices dropped at the end of the week before, and were cheapest the day before the game. I have noticed in the past that on Stubhub, prices drop really fast in the hours before game time - verify when Stubhub shuts down for the game, bring your computer and a portable printer and buy/print a ticket right before the shutdown, or whenever you feel comfortable. They might even scan the barcode on your phone at the gate like they do airplane tickets.

Thanks for the advice. I am going to hold out as late as possible. They have some pretty restrictive rules with SB tix...no electronic tix and if you buy through Stubhub you have to pick up at one of their offices.

Something strange has happened in the last 24 hours. Prices have sky-rocketed while the number available, at least on StubHub, has been cut in half. But other brokers have many left and they are raising prices also. I think the bubble will burst next week and prices will fall steeply.
