FS or FT: 1919 Zeenut PADDY DRISCOLL BVG 4 Highest Graded

SOLD

For Sale or For Trade:

1919 Zeenut JOHN "PADDY" DRISCOLL BVG 4 VG-EX

Between BVG, SGC & PSA, only 4 of these have ever been graded. This is the highest graded of them all.

Driscoll is a Pro Football Hall of Famer who briefly tried his hand at baseball first. There are no period football cards of him, and virtually no football cards at all from the 1900-1930 era, making this a very rare early football-related card.

I am considering cash offers, or trade offers. For trade, I like pre-war HOFers, especially Gehrig, Ruth, Wagner, Cobb, Johnson, Mathewson, Young, etc. Also need a few of the biggie post-war RCs like Clemente, Seaver, Gibson, Mantle, Ford, etc.

Hard to determine a value, but in speaking to Beckett and one of their vintage football contributors, it would probably sell in the $500-$1000 range (this one at the higher end due to it being the best condition known available). But I am open to offers and pretty easy to work with on trades.

There is a period football card of him. 1928 Star Player Candy. I only know of two. So, you are correct the more common baseball card, although rare is a great piece for HOF football card collectors. Didn't know about it.

Hi Carl,

Have you seen a Star Player Candy Driscoll? I heard rumors about it, but have never actually seen one. What team does it picture him with?

Thanks!
Mark

Also google it...not sure what the other card's condition is, but mine's an SGC-80. Maybe Jeff remembers.
