Hello

Hi everyone my name is Brian and I've been reading the forums for about a year and this is finally my first post.

For the past few years, I've been a collector / case buster of NASCAR trading cards, as a hobby for my wife and I to enjoy together. Since Press Pass went out of business I decided to shift my focus back to baseball. My main focus will be Boog Powell and Brooks Robinson and working on a T206 Baltimore orioles set. Both of these Orioles were my grandparent’s favorite players.

Hopefully I’ll be able to work out some deals with members on the forums through the B/S/T. I’m a active member on SCF, with the same user name.

Hello......remember cutting out some kind of Boog Powell 3-D like card from a cereal box in the early 70's. I had it for years but disappeared....but its imprinted in my mind

Welcome. I have a special appreciation for Boog Powell as well. The first MLB game I remember attending as a kid included a home run hitting contest prior to the game between Boog Powell and Greg Luzinski. The name Boog was as funny to a 10 year old as the concept of "old timers" playing baseball.

Welcome:

1 -- Boog Powell was one of your "grandfather's" favorite players. Man, I'm getting old, he was one of mine also !! :) I remember one play were an infielder threw him a simple ground out to first. Boog missed played it and caught ball in his arm-pit. The umpire called the runner safe. Which brought up an interesting baseball rule. Whereas you can catch a fly ball with your cap, or jock strap, you must catch a force-play cleanly with your hands.

2 -- T206 Baltimore -- great sub-set.

Boog and Brooks is all I heard about growing up. Boog was always friendly at the games. Growing up, this was in the 80's, Brooks Robinson seemed like he was always doing signings at a gas station on Patapsco highway in Baltimore.
