WTB: 1953 Topps Baseball 5 cents wrapper

Looking to buy a 1953 Topps 5 Cent baseball wrapper to go with my 1953 collection.

I think I have one, in MINT shape. What are you offering?

peterb69 01-09-2015 12:30 PM

I probably can not afford a Mint one, but I'll PM you what I can offer.

bobbyw8469 01-09-2015 01:14 PM

Yea...we are miles apart. Would you like to see it anyway, so you know I am not BSing?

peterb69 01-09-2015 01:21 PM

I am looking for a lesser condition version of the 1953 Topps baseball 5 cent wrapper.

bobbyw8469 01-09-2015 01:25 PM

Would you still want to see a pic just because? To show you that they exist? I know they are rare.

ZachS 01-09-2015 01:26 PM

I'm working on a '53 Topps set and I'd like to see a pic if you don't mind.

bobbyw8469 01-09-2015 01:28 PM

Will do. Mine is in a framed display with some cards. I will take a pic when I get off work today.

bobbyw8469 01-09-2015 04:12 PM

Sorry...I was mistaken...mine is "just" a worthless 1 cent wrapper....carry on.

53T wrapper

Bobby,
No No..your wrapper not worthless

Ok, yes its a 1 cent type..which instantly drops the value way down..and you framed it..and you ironed it out and took away the factory folds and that decreased the values even more....but still has value...not much..but a little....would 5 bucks be out of line ?

peterb69 01-09-2015 08:22 PM

Nice wrapper. That is what I want to do with a 5 cent example.

ZachS 01-09-2015 08:26 PM

Very cool display. The 5 cent is green right? For some reason I'm thinking I've seen one before and it was green and red. I could be mistaken.

bobbyw8469 01-09-2015 08:51 PM

Yes. $5 is unheard of. I think I will keep it in mint shape all tucked away in the picture frame.

Green and Red sounds like 1952 Topps. The 1953 Topps should be red and blue.
