Induction Weekend

I am thinking about going to the 2016 HOF Induction Weekend. Was curious as to if anyone on the board has gone to won and had any advice on planning a trip? What airport is closest? How hard is it to get hotels? etc..

I've basically been attending HOF Weekend my entire life. Plan your visit as early as you possibly can. From what I understand all the hotels within 60 miles of Cooperstown are already sold out for this year's festivities.

Lots of sun screen

I went to Carlton Fisk's induction ceremony.

I had a great day, but remember that I wished I had put a little more sun screen on. Got a bit burned. It was unusually hot that day!

Enjoy,

Patrick

There are several websites that could be of assistance. This far in advance, you can probably rent a private home in the area. Many locals are not baseball fans or are bigger fans of $$$. They leave town on the busiest weekend. Try cooperstownstay.com. Sorry I can't offer my place but my son will want to see Junior Griffey in 2016.

I was in New Jersey working in 1996 and stayed over a long weekend and went up and spent Induction Day weekend in Cooperstown. It was an on-the-fly trip before all the conveniences of the internet and it was a pain getting lodging and all set up. I wound up staying about 45 miles away or so but it was a fantastic trip. Hit the card show and all the shops there and the HOF. Really just a beautiful little town regardless of the significance of baseball too. Gotta get my wife up there for a weekend.........
