Kevin,
First off, hearty congratulations on getting this very rare Billy Martin. It's sure a nice-looking pose of Billy. Wasn't Casey Stengal his manager at Oakland? What he saw of Billy convinced him to bring him to the Yankees as soon as possible. Just a thought, make certain you fill out the complete name of the company issuing the card on the PSA submission form. Don't write simply "1949 Hage's"; rather "1949 Hage's Dairy". You could even add "P.C.L." since these cards were strictly Pacific Coast League. Doing so identifies better what it is, where it's from, and its importance than just the company name. Hage's is too ambiguous in itself, and PSA won't add anything to the flip that you leave out on the submission form. I've seen PSA flips with "1954 Stahl-Meyer", leaving out the word "Franks". It was a big turn-off. You can never assume PSA will add what is left off the submission form. Again, nice pick up. --Brian Powell |
Nice get - I love it when people post that they found something they have been after for a long time.
