Two interesting (?) T206 name back stamps
 

Not that I've seen a lot :rolleyes:, but I've never seen these:

I know, based on some of the Bulletins Leon shows every once in a while, that Dr. Kurzrok was a card collecting pioneer. However, I can't imagine that he stamped many of his cards, or we would have seen more like this. I could be wrong.

I think that we can rightfully assume that Bala is short for Bala Cynwyd, PA, which is NW Philly. I can't find anything on him. Such a common name and common publication, makes online searches quite futile.

If anyone has, and would like to share, any info on either of these, I'd think it would be interesting.

I got one of the Saturday Evening Post cards recently as well. Seems like there are a few names that were stamped with SEP agents.

I have also seen some T206s lately that have the following on the back:
"May 31" Nap Lajoie
"Howard W Dulance" spelling on last name? Oberlin
"William Stratff" Schulte
"BL White" Clancy
"Special" Mattern

Henry Weil, Agent

Editing because I took the time to google Henry Weil. Not hard to find his whole life story in a few minutes. Born to Adolph and Kate Weil who were part of a Jewish community in Paducah. Henry would have been 8 years old when T206s were in packs. His dad ran a liquor store so I would guess he sold newspapers and magazines out of that store. Graduated from Paducah High in 1920. Attended the Univ. of Pennsylvania. Joined an insurance company in 1923 which became very prosperous and still operates today. He and his father built the Cobb Hotel across the street and he was living unmarried in that hotel in 1940. Enlisted in WWII and served 4 1/2 years. Sometime after the war he married a girl 21 years younger and had two daughters. In 1947 he was one of the business leaders who formed the Paducah Baseball Assoc., bought land, built a ballpark, and induced the Milwaukee Braves to stock the Paducah Chiefs minor league team. Was a prominent business man in Paducah for many years. He was very big in bird hunting and field trials and owned a champion bird dog. Died in 1979. His wife survived until 2008. Buried in Temple Israel Cemetery.
