1961 Topps
So today (via eBay auction) I completed my 1961 Topps set with the last card being #182 Jim Otto RC. What are your thoughts on this set?

From the Standard Catalog: 198 cards in the set, the last full Topps set to include both NFL and AFL teams. The AFL segment of the set #133-197 does not include team cards or 1960 Football Highlights cards (maybe because the AFL started in 1960?). The fronts of the 1961 Topps football cards look like the fronts of the 1961 Topps baseball cards. Card #41 could actually be considereded Packer running back Jim Taylor's RC because his 1959 #155 card and 1960 card #52 actually depict Cardinals linebacker Jim Taylor.
One thing I always wondered about, is why is the "MAKE-A-PHOTO" on the back crooked? <a href="http://s176.photobucket.com/user/larrytipton/media/filename-1-41.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w185/larrytipton/filename-1-41.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo filename-1-41.jpg"/></a> Larry |
