Spinners Jersey

Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody knows anything about this jersey (year, team, etc.). Who ever wore it was a pretty big guy. Could it be Greenville Spinners? I hope somebody can give me some good information on this jersey.

For the sake of comparison, here's a view from 1925.

Uniform is c.1940 and does have similarities to a Greenville Spinners jersey of the period. Do the letters look like they may have been reapplied or even new? The numbers on the back look like they were replaced.

Thanks John for the picture. The lettering is very similar to the jerseys in the your picture. Hopefully some others will know something.

Joe- The letters don't look like they were replaced, they look all original. Did they replace numbers back then with minor league jerseys?

Jersey looks like ones in the picture I posted. Could the tag "38-27" mean 1938? That would be consistent with the tagging and style.

Numbers were often replaced as jerseys were reused. Just guessing but issued in 1938 for what was orginally #27??

The 38-27 tag is on the pants. I appreciate the information.

Ah...in that case probable size numbers.

You could claim it is from 1908, worn by Shoeless Joe, and then consign to Huggins and Scott...(couldn't resist..)

lol You know looking more closely I think I see what looks to be the name Jackson on the inside of the jersey.

Can't add anything useful but wanted to say - keep the jersey threads coming!

Chris - about 500 miles from Regina to Calgary, but you may appreciate this 1910 beauty.
