mini card albums
 

anyone remember those mini-card albums from somewhere around 1970-72 where you pasted in the mini-cardboard of several players including two main stars in the middle? Any info on these is appreciated. All I remember is having them--with that bluish-cast ink on the cover.

Those were among the first things I collected as a kid. The last one I needed was the Giants album. I remember it clearly because my friend Nick got one in a pack and spit on it because he already had one. I grabbed it, wiped it off, and kept it. I think I still have that spit-stained album somewhere.

The images on the fronts of the albums are from long before 1969. Some of them appeared as the inset photos on 1962 Topps cards, so they had to be from 1961 or earlier.
