Bat for sale on eBay - interested in any of your opinions on authenticity.
I am considering purchasing this bat as a gift for my boss - a lifelong Cards fan. I would prefer to avoid the embarrasment of this being a fake.

People try to sell the Adirondack C and D models (model number on knob ends with those letters) as gamers -- with a very rare exception, they are not gamers.

that's just a stamp model store bought

Just asking but does that mean Mears is unsure about the bat being real? Since it isn't graded maybe it is a store bat but I would contact them and ask what the deal is. The guys on this site I feel are better knowledgable than some of the authenticators. Tim's reply a couple posts above I would trust him in a heart beat on what he says among some others.

Doesn't Troy or a Mears Representative usually sign these LOAs? I noticed that the letter posted for this bat is not signed by Troy... Counterfeit Letter perhaps?

Mark,
I think the letter with the Musial might only be a auction style letter. |
Doesn't MEARS grade on an A1 to A10 scale? The LOA just says "Authentic". Does it actually say its a gamer in the LOA? The LOA says very little other than to state the obvious features. I think "Authentic" just means its a real wood bat from 1961 - period.

Adirondack C & D Model Bats
I have no public opinion on this particular Musial bat, but I would like to direct folks attention to some information on C & D Model bats that they may not be aware of.
