1953 Topps Mickey Mantle PSA 9(MC)! Gem Mint 10 except for top to bottom centering!

1 Attachment(s)
If this card was centered a fraction better top to bottom, this would easily be a $500,000+ card. What would a PSA 10 Mantle bring? Hard to even comprehend, certainly 7 figures!!... Only 3 PSA straight 9's, and this is the one and only qualified 9 in the entire population report. Back is flawless, razor sharp corners (gem mint, no touches) and snow white pristine borders. Zero chipping in the red area, other than top to bottom centering, this card is perfect (gem mint). A recent PSA 8 just sold for $65K, and an 8.5 for $120K!. PSA SMR Price for a straight PSA 9 is $240K... This is not a typical PSA card with a qualifier, this is a rare Mantle in extremely high grade. Card presents extremely well because of centering being off top to bottom. This is a Mantle collector's centerpiece.... Asking $45K, if more pics are needed, please let me know.

Call it what it is. It's not a 9. It's a 9 mc.

pokerplyr80 11-24-2014 09:20 PM

how much are you asking for it?

Why post a card for sale and not list a price?

I've been in that situation, where a card was thinly traded and I just didn't know what it was worth, so I put it out and invited offers. I don't blame Kevin for doing the same.

Econteachert205 11-25-2014 07:34 PM

Don't see any issue with the listing. Under normal circumstances I like to see a price. This card is not a normal circumstance.

1) I don't see where Kevin stated the card was anything other than a 9mc?
2) Where is it stated a seller has to list a price when selling a card?

I don't see where Kevin is doing anything wrong.

I believe a few weeks ago there was a thread from the moderators to respect a persons bst posts. That the bst is not the place to question prices and methods, I think we need to follow that and that includes this defense of this listing.

By the way nice card, I wish I had the available funds to purchase it for what I think it will sell for.

auction

Perfect for a high-end auction....after taxes and people are ready to spend.

It's a great looking card but if you're asking any where close to the 100k you mentioned in the listing we would be mies apart. That's why I asked what you want for it, to see if there's a chance we could make a deal. I do like the card.

I offer no opinion on this BST listing, other than to clear one thing up real quick. The original listing just had "PSA 9" in the title with no "MC", and the OP has edited the title to more accurately reflect the actual grade.

"...close to the 100k you mentioned in the listing we would be mies apart..."

This is the sort of comment that is against the rules for our BST forums. I've seen a couple other comments in this thread that would fall into the same category. Kevin is not doing anything wrong here, he is free to list a card without a price if he chooses. Responses that are critical or negative in nature, are against the rules however. If you have questions or comments on the card, please contact the seller privately. Thanks all....
