Old Glove Help
3 Attachment(s)
Received this a while back from a respected board member. Does have wear, incl broken, apparently replaced back strap, but has crescent pad as shown. Need ideas on age and appx value, as I do want to sell it. no manufacturers or endorsements seen. THANKS. Scott;)

Scott-
I will let the experts chime in, as I am not one. However, nice glove! I believe it dates to ca. 1900 and I think it is called a pillow type with crescent pad. I think the value is around 100.00+ as crescent pads are tougher to find. The condition will affect the value (a nicer one would go for 3-500). I found a similar one in Brimfield several years ago for 30.00 and I thought I got a great deal. Good luck with it! Alan |

WOW - that's great value news. I would have also guessed around $100, but the crescent must add a lot.
Nice pick-up! |
Apologies if I am hijacking the OP thread but I thought that I might also ask for the kind assistance of the glove collectors on the board to help provide date and value ranges for this once-white crescent? Needs some stitching repairs etc. thanks!

C. 1900-1910. Crescent catchers mitts do not have the demand or value of a crescent glove or base mitt. Your glove has some conditions issues, but I like the look and it displays nice from the front. I would say you are looking at $75-100. It can be restored nicely.
