Question: Christmas Rack Packs
Has anyone here had any luck with these Christmas Rack packs on feebay? I purchased a 1963 rack pack recently, cards were very nice but no biggies. I'm sure there are some people on here that have tried them, just curious if anyone had any nice hits.

I can sum it up for you in two words.....Stay away
|
I bought a few for say 20 bucks or so, early 1970s baseball ones that had cards I needed showing. Exmnt- nrmnt, team cards and minor stars but no big hits. Majority opinion seems to be to stay away, I've never heard of big hits coming out.

Christmas Packs
Kind of what I figured but they are so tempting.

The are repackaged cards...you will never get a hit higher than what you see on the front of the pack...most were created in the late 80s and 90s. Topps did not produce Christmas packs for most of the years sold on ebay.

Christmas Packs
Interesting Wite3, I knew that they were repacked but did not know they were repacked in the 80's and 90's. That probably say's it all there. Doesn't sound like a very Merry Christmas Pack.
Thanks |
The only hit from one of these CP I have ever heard of was from a friend who won a 68 CP on ebay and it had the 68 WL McCormick variation on the front....he paid around a $100 for it and resold it for $400 by calling attention to the WL variation. Guess most bidders do not even waste their time looking at these CP and missed a great opportunity(I missed it too).

There was a guy on Ebay selling 52-57 xmas rack packs. Looked and sounded real. He had one that he wasn't selling but he had pictured on his "About Me" page with the Mathews RC on top. Also claimed the folks he bought them from had the Mantle RC on top but held onto that one. He was getting tremendous prices for them. wynnian was his user name, you can look at his feedback and see what he has sold. Incredible.
Here's one with Pafko on back and his story on these rack packs: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1952-TOPPS-B...item19f4d23f5f |
