Goudey Ruths Ebay

Look pretty fake to me but people are bidding on these. Has 2 Goudey Ruths for sale as well as a 52' Topps Mantle. His lack of grammar skills would scare me away as well as the fact that he has a few PSA graded cards for sale. You would think he would get the Ruth's and Mantle graded?? He does have a lot of positive feedback though. What do you guys think?

I don't get why he'd be selling graded 1949 bowman commons and 60 fleer's and not bother to grade the Ruth/Mantle's if they were good.

the yellow ruth may be ok...but the other and the mantle rc are not.

One would think. No returns is not a good sign either. The Mantle though is now over $1k. A lot of gamblers out there...or it's being shilled.

I can't really tell whether the 50's mantles(53,56) are real or not...but as stated the "As is" policy is not confidence inspiring

On the Goudey's isn't the area where the paper loss is the place were they put the word reprint on them? I'm no expert but just saying it seems strange that both have the paper loss/erased areas in that spot. Just my 2 cents.

They're all 100% bad. Like the previous poster mentioned the Ruth aren't even the good fakes. They're the late 80's early 90's reprints that have been purposefully damaged on the back where the "reprint" designation was printed. The Mantle isn't even a good fake either. I'm physically closer to Neptune then that is to the proper color/contrast/ registration.

Some ebayers lost some moolah on those. The Mantle went for almost $5000 and looks to have been a legitimate sale (of a fake card)... None of these auctions will end completely well.

so even though seller advertises these cards as is...does a potential buyer have recourse via paypal?

I would assume so. The item listed for sale is a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle, which it is not. Ebay sides with the buyer when an item is not as described.
