What's your favorite card type and beverage
1 Attachment(s)
Another thread I've been part of got me thinking about the possibility that like minds in card collecting might crossover to beverages as well. Out of respect to anyone who may be in the rooms or just simply doesn't drink alcohol - a beverage can be any type of liquid that you consume as long as it's your favorite.
Example: Favorite Card Type: T207 Favorite Beverage: Jack Daniel's(double on the rocks) We may find out that N172 collectors prefer scotch and T206 collectors prefer Miller Lite(or some other carbonated, tasteless beverage) and T207 guys go for Tenn whiskey. So, how about entertaining this ol' hillbilly and share your favorite card set and beverage. I'll try and keep a running tally from the responses: Peck&Snyder - Stella N43 - Homemade Strawberry Mint Tea D304 - Thai Iced Tea Exhibits - Coke E90-1 - Ithaca Flower Power IPA E95 - IPA E145 - Milk, Dortmunder Gold E210 - Diet Peach Snapple F50 - Yuengling PC805 - Johnnie Walker Black T201 - Old Style Beer T202 - Water, West Coast Tap Micro Brew(IPA) T205- Vodka/Soda, Glenlivet, Pepsi, Malbec(wine) T206 - RC Cola, A&W, Heineken, Low Gravity Beer, Moonshine, Brewhouse Blonde, IPA, Whiskey, Vanilla Porter, Coke Zero T207 - Jack D T210 - Jack D T211 - Whiskey T212- Starbucks T215 - GCL Tequila T3 - European Orange Fanta, Cucumber/Ginger/Vodka, Green Tea T5 - Water Zeenuts - Dr Pepper '33 Goudey - Water 1951T - Ale-8-1 1956T - Southern Sweet Tea |

Hmm...
This topic is not going to be easy for me, because I don't have one favorite set, or one favorite drink. My favorite pre-war set is probably the T206, though I really like the T202 set, too. For vintage, the 1953 Bowman Color is probably tops for me, though there are a couple of Topps sets I love almost as much. But this is a pre-war board, so I'll go with the T206 set. And for drinks? I can't drink alcohol anymore. So I'll go with A&W root beer. T206 + A&W please :) |

T215 - Still chasing T206's but interest has changed
Gran Centenario Leyenda - It is a tequila. Probably more common to us southerners near the border. |

I'm with Andy, I love a lot of sets (pre war and post) but if I had to pick a favorite as a "type", considering all that it offers, I choose T202.
When out and about/having a good time, or tailgating, or sometimes even working (with breweries), or all the above, my favorite drink is a nice West Coast IPA.. long list to follow, as I've become a beer geek by necessity-- Lagunitas- IPA/Lil Sumpin, Bear Republic- Racer 5, Russian River- Pliny the Elder/Blind Pig and their sours, Anderson Valley- Hop Ottin, Magnolia- Proving Ground, Midnight Sun- Fairview IPA, Broken Tooth- IPA, St Archer- IPA, Deschutes- Inversion... etc. All other times is water, preferably tap. edited to add that the Fogarty was actually my very first pre-1900 base ball card. I "won" it in a Richard Galasso auction out of the SCD sometime around 1994. You never forget your first :-) |

I'm mostly a post-war collector, but if I had to make a preference it would be the Cracker Jack cards. Joe Jackson is on my short list once my lottery winnings arrive.
