1948 Sportfolio Bob Feller Premium?
2 Attachment(s)
I have a rather poor copy of the 1948 Apr Sportfolio Magazine with Bob Feller on the cover. Inside there was a business reply card for a subscription to the magazine, which also offered a free full color photo of Bob Feller, described as "a reproduction of Sportfolio's cover, suitable for framing, 8 x 10 inches in color."
I have never seen this Bob Feller premium before. Does anyone have a copy of one to share? Are there other Sportfolio premiums? |
1948 Sportfolio Bob Feller Premium - Success!!!

After 4yrs of searching I finally found this Bob Feller premium from Sportfolio Magazine! The item is just as described on the business reply card in the April 1948 issue - an 8x10 color copy of the cover photo. The back is blank other than a hand written name of Bob Feller in pencil. As you can see it has obvious water stains, and a less obvious paper divot near the bottom left hand corner in the yellow background, but as a collector I couldn't be happier to confirm its existence AND add it to my Bob Feller collection!
FYI, the same seller I bought this from on eBay had a Ralph Kiner premium as well, also 8x10 in color, and appears to match the May 1948 Sportfolio Magazine cover photo. That premium has a nice notation at the bottom, "Compliments SPORTFOLIO - The Illustrated Digest of All Sports" |
Congrats Jason. Awesome pick up.

What a Feller -- Love it!

Great year for Feller too--his 348 strikeout season. By recollection, I also believe he won 26 games that year! Awesome card!
May your collecting bring you joy as you hold the history of the game right in your hands, Larry |
Love it! Kiner is cool too. I take it this is not an issue that is cataloged. Wondering who else is in the "set".

Patience pays off again - congrats, man. But, dang - the premium shot cut off the great stripey socks that I wish the Tribe would resurrect.:)
