Game Used Bat Pricing
Recently I've been considering expanding my Royals collection from just cards and autographs to some game used items. Flipping through ebay, I saw a game used bat of Jerry Terrell:

Also, are there any general guidelines for game used bats (Pre-war, 50s, 60s?) I know very little about vintage memorabilia and am not really sure where to start. Thanks for the help! |
Check out this seller on eBay he is pricey but will work with you. If you are willing to pay shipping I have a Buddy Biancalana gamer I will give to you to you get you started.

After studying what bats have been selling for on eBay, you might also check out what they've been selling for at the Mears auction site (if you can get their "Prices Realized" search engine to work):

I'd estimate it's worth about $50, give or take...maybe somewhat of a slight premium may be involved due to fact that he was on the 1980 Royals & some collectors may be trying to get a bat from everyone on that club.

The crack across the label would also make the Terrell bat worth quite a bit less, I'd think, than its listed price.

If this helps you, this bat dates to 1975 when he was with the Twins. So it's not a a Royals bat. Regardless, I wouldn't pay half of what they are asking. My opinion only.

The labeling period is a 73-75. He wore #1 in 75 making it a 1975 bat.
