Current Goodwin...Fred Photo Ruth

I've been watching this auction with curiosity...as there was a similar card for sale at the chicago nat'l in 2013...maybe even the same card. It just sat there the whole show...I believe the asking price was 24K...which I'm sure could have been negotiated down.

I thought about it...and thought about it...wish I acted...but didn't.

So where do y'all think this early super tough Ruth will end?

I think that given that last year, a Frederick Foto Ruth in much better condition (SGC 3.5) sold for ~44K: Link, I think that card is near it's final price, maybe a couple more increments to go.

dunno gary...with over a full week to go...I think there maybe 5-10K more legs left in this one?!

With such tough cards condition sometimes can become less relevant?

Always possible. I know there is a board member who has been somewhat vocal about wanting one of these, and it only takes two bidders to drive the price of these cards up.

My guess: $44,000...

This one has a better contrast than the one that sold for 44k. I think there's only about 5 of these in existence.

ullmandds 09-19-2014 11:50 AM

I'm inclined to agree that the hammer will be somewhere around 40K.

The price ended at ~$35K after BP. Still a very solid price.

Solid price indeed...perhaps even more surprising is e122 ruth selling for almost 15K...WOW?
