Walter Alston or Vin Scully?
I am currently working on a signed 1957 set, I have around 77% of the set autographed. While I am trying to add new cards, I am also looking to upgrade others. One of the cards that I am wanting to upgrade is my Dodgers team card. I am debating if I want to get one that is signed by Walter Alston (deceased 1984) or get Vin Scully to sign one.
Both have their positives and negatives. Alston is a Hall of Famer in the true sense and was the manager of the team but overall not a signature that is in high demand. Scully's signature is more in demand but he wasn't an on-field person. I know that people don't treat Ford Frick winners in the same category as regular Hall of Famers but then again Scully is held in a different category than most other broaadcasters. Opinions on what direction I should go with. |
Get one signed by Alston, and have Scully sign it.If that idea doesn't work,I would get an Alston signed card.

Just get one of each, or like mentioned above, get an Alston and then try to have Scully sign it. There's a guy on sportscollectors.net under the id of jeserone that should be able to get you Scully. Tell him I sent ya.

Is that the guy who facked. Private signing with Vin?

Typo, meant to say faked. Someone said they were doing a private signing with Vin a while ago and ended up forging all the autos. Took a lot of money from people and ruined a lot of pieces.

LOL, I thought "facked" was some new slang I didn't know. I go to school with a lot of people 20 years younger than me and I don't understand but a portion of what they say. No, jeserone would not do that. |
